The Okapi

Okapi Facts

People used to think an okapi was a kind of wild horse. But it's really related to the giraffe. It lives alone or in pairs, but never in big herds. Baby okapis have manes that disappear by the time they're grown up. An okapi doesn't see very well. But it has a super sense of hearing and smell. It pulls leaves from trees with its blue-black tongue, which is so long it can clean any part of its body.
