The Gorilla

Gorilla Facts

This is the largest ape in the world. A male can weigh 500 pounds and stand nearly 6 feet tall. Although it can look and sound scary, the gorilla is a very gentle, shy animal. Gorillas live in small groups that are lead by an old male. He's called a silver back after the gray hair on his back. A gorilla has a good sense of smell and hearing, but it has super eyesight. Every night gorillas make a new "bed" out of leafy branches.
