The Flying Fox

Flying Fox Facts

This 2 pound bat has a wingspan of nearly 5 feet!
It doesn't use sonar to find its food like nighttime bats do. It's awake during the day to fly around and uses its eyes and nose to find food. This bat sleeps in trees instead of caves. The flying fox's wings have "elbows" that can fold up and wrap around it like a cape. It helps the plants it visits by pollinating their flowers and spreading their seeds.
