The John C. Vanderburg Rainforest Biosphere

Mission Statement

The purpose of the rainforest biosphere is to serve as a hands-on science laboratory where students will have an opportunity to compare the rainforest biome with their own desert biome. The goal is to provide students with experiences that help them understand how all parts of an ecosystem are valuable and how they are dependent on each other. Also, students will be engaged in ways to help protect and preserve the rainforests. The biosphere will serve as a field trip destination for all Clark County School District students.

Welcome to Our Rainforest in the Desert!

Welcome to the John C. Vanderburg Rainforest Biosphere. The biosphere is located in Henderson, NV, (a suburb of Las Vegas). In addition to the biosphere serving students in Clark County according to the Mission Statement, we hope that this site will become a premiere destination for students around the world who are seeking knowledge on rainforest ecosystems. Please use the menu bar above to navigate around our site. Some sections will have an additional menu bar to the right for links within that section. Please use the contact link for information on field trips, to ask our student docents a question, or for any other information you need. We'll be happy to respond. Enjoy your time here and thank you for visiting.
